Gatherings

Humans are social creatures and thrive on connection and interaction. When we gather together we find that so much energy is created that helps develop initiatives and drives projects and collaborative work. Gatherings are important spaces GEN Australia holds and facilitates with partners, both in-person and online for communities, organisations and the broader public, so people can share, learn and exchange with each other.

Ecovillage Workshop activity at Paradise One Community

GEN Australia has co-hosted and co-facilitated several ecovillage and intentional communities gatherings in different communities in Australia.

  • Building & Connecting Communities Gathering, Tasman Ecovillage, 2016
  • SE Qld & Northern NSW Intentional Communities & Ecovillage Gathering, Currumbin Ecovillage, 2018
  • Ecovillage Emergence Convergence, Maleny Ecovillage, 2019

We were also present at the Intentional Communities Conference (ICC), Moora Moora community, 2013 to share about GEN and the ecovillage movement.

Regional Gathering, Currumbin, 2018
ICC, Moora Moora 2013
Maleny Convergence, 2019

We plan to host an online gathering for ecovillages, intentional communities and ecovillage projects in the second half of 2021, and a gathering for ecovillages and the broader public in 2022, either in person or online, depending on the COVID-19 situation.

If you and your community are interested to host a GEN gathering, workshop or another event, please get in touch with us.
